In the early 1900s, my maternal grandparents, Annie KREASTSKY and Harry VADAVASKY, came to Hamilton, by ship, from the Ukraine. They lived in Hamilton for a few years and then moved to Toronto, where their three children, Moses, Gertie, and Rose, were born. They then moved to Montreal. Harry left the family and last we heard, he was living in Philadelphia. We never heard from him again. It could be that Moses was born on the ship and that they registered him as being born in Hamilton so that he and the two girls had Canadian birth certificates. I have my father's birth certificate (STERUBERG) from Austria (now Poland) from 1899. It would be great to find lost relatives from Galicia, if any survived the Holocaust.
